Procrastination
Procrastination means you do less important things but avoid doing something you need to do. It is the habit of postponing tasks or actions often unnecessarily. You know that it may lead to negative consequences. Sometimes, you choose short-term comfort work but are distracted from completing meaningful or necessary work. Let’s discuss “Procrastination”, and “Causes of Procrastination”.
Causes of Procrastination
Perfectionism
Sometimes, people think the tasks are of high standards. They think we need to be perfect to do this. We cannot do this. They may not be able to do this. So, they fear to do crucial tasks by searching for perfectionism.
Overwhelm
Sometimes, people feel the task is too big or complex. They think that work completion will not be possible for them. They feel too lazy internally to step on the task.
Lack of Motivation
When we get motivated, we do the work properly. Sometimes, we do not feel motivated. We could not find the task meaningful or engaging.
Poor Time Management
Time management plays a vital role in the success of our lives. Sometimes, we underestimate how long tasks will take.
Distractions
Nowadays, we have engaged ourselves more in social media, TV, and other activities. So, we forget our crucial work and what to prioritize.
Fear of failure or criticism
We avoid tasks due to anxiety about the outcome. We think this might not be done effectively by us, and anyone can say something about this.
